“Killing Time” is a song I wrote about a relationship rooted in instant gratification rather than long-term fulfillment. Needing this person in your life more than you actually want them - quite like an addiction. It’s about getting trapped in a cycle of deceitful highs and unsettling lows, that leave you questioning everything as soon as the rush wears off.
The music video is one big metaphor for heartbreak and just how painful it can be to let people we love go. Toxic relationships aren't devastating solely because of disconnection - the hardest part is how they linger. No matter how damaging things become, there's often still something sticky about them. Something that leaves you in a loop of romanticizing what the relationship once was, rather than what it is. We wanted to bring that idea to life by playing with parallels in this video - realty vs. the version of them we fell in love with. It also pays homage to one of my favorite horror franchises - Saw.
I’m so proud of this one. It’s a song I worked on for over a year and I poured every ounce of my being into making it as perfect as I thought it could be.
