ABOUT MARIO

Mario Houle is a singer, songwriter, and actor originally from Colchester, Vermont. He discovered his love for performing at age 11, playing Rapunzel's Prince in his middle school's production of "Into the Woods". Throughout his youth, Mario performed with numerous local and regional theaters across Vermont before earning his BFA in Musical Theatre from The Hartt School in Connecticut in 2021. He has spent the past four years in Los Angeles developing his craft across film, theatre, and music. During this time, he has taken leading roles in two upcoming feature films, "Mock Trial" and "Saturday: The Movie Musical" (both premiering in 2026) - appeared in regional theatre productions including "tick, tick…BOOM!" and "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)" - and shared his original music with audiences throughout LA, performing at venues ranging from The Hollywood Bowl and 626 Night Market to The Hotel Café and The Viper Room.

He has written and recorded a growing catalog of original music, including “Güerito,” currently featured on TIDAL, and “Killing Time,” for which he recently wrote, directed, and starred in an accompanying music video/short film. Why I’m Not Okay” is a break-up banger aimed at a parental figure, exploring how childhood heartache lingers and shapes us well into adulthood. “The Martyr” uses religious imagery to examine how much some of us are willing to sacrifice for a relationship that’s already dying. “Callin’” tells the story of longing and emotional distance, capturing the push and pull of unresolved connection. His debut single, “I Trusted You,” is an emotionally raw pop-rock anthem of betrayal, building to a cathartic climax that mirrors the fury of anger suppressed for the sake of pleasing others. The song has been recognized for its honest storytelling, captivating vocals, and immersive sonic landscape.

With extensive vocal training and a strong background in theatre, Mario approaches his work with focus, care, and emotional depth, bringing a clear sense of intention to everything he does. Storytelling sits at the center of his work, as Mario creates music that explores deeply personal experiences, often tackling subjects that are underrepresented or overlooked. His music is raw and vulnerable, shaped by lived experience and a commitment to telling stories honestly, even when they’re difficult to tell.
